How much harm was done without a weapon? Was the great bodily harm inflicted after the injured was unable to defend themselves? There seems to be more to this story as DAs have huge case loads and rarely get involved prosecuting inmates already in the system. Usually, fights like this cost the inmate "good time", not more time. BUT, if there are special circumstances then anything is possible and if additional charges are filed, more time is possible.
