The Ahtanum View Corrections Center is a state prison located at 2011 South 64th Ave in Yakima, WA in Yakima County. This State - low security prison is operated by the Washington Department of Corrections to hold inmates who have been convicted to and sentenced for a crime in the state of Washington.

The inmates housed at the institution are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. Washington's mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

State facilities provide basic living standards to meet most of the inmate's needs, including dietary, health, fitness, education, religious practices, entertainment, and many others. Conditions in these prisons vary within the WA DOC depend on many intersecting factors including the age of the buildings, the security level of the inmates and budget.

Inmate Locator

Ahtanum View Corrections Center is a facility in the Washington Department of Corrections. The DOC publishes the names of their current inmates and identifies which of their locations the inmate is being held. Your search should start with the first DOC locator to see if your loved one is there. Begin with the first three letters of the offender's first and last name, it does not have to be spelled exactly.

The second box is the InmateAid Inmate Search. This database of inmates is user-generated content for the purpose of accessing and utilizing any or all of the InmateAid services. If you need our assistance creating your own inmate profile to keep in touch, email us at aid@inmateaid.com and we will assist you in locating your inmate.

As a last resort, you might have to pay for that information if we do not have it. The Arrest Record Search will cost you a small amount, but their data is the freshest available and for that reason, they charge to access it.

Covid Visitation Information

The Washington State Department of Corrections takes the health and safety of our staff and incarcerated individuals very seriously. At the same time, Corrections recognizes the importance of family visitation, programming, and other opportunities provided to our incarcerated population per our mission of improving public safety by positively changing lives.

Consistent with DOH guidelines, Corrections is working to implement enhanced screening protocols for all employees/contract staff, incarcerated individuals and others entering DOC facilities and field offices to include taking temperatures and answering screening questionnaires.

Until the Department is able to put those protocols into place, we are taking the following actions effective March 13:

  • Suspending visitation at all correctional facilities in Washington, including extended family visits (EFV). Corrections has authorized reimbursement for families scheduled for EFVs;
  • Restricting access for all individuals, with the exception of employees/contract staff and legal professionals, to the Monroe Correctional Complex, Washington Corrections Center and Washington Corrections Center for Women; and
  • Suspending all tours and events involving four or more outside guests at all facilities.

This situation is constantly evolving. Corrections will provide updates as things changes.
