Alexander Co Detention is for County Jail offenders sentenced up to twenty four months.

The Alexander Co Detention is a detention center located at 91 Commercial Pk Ave Taylorsville, NC which is operated locally by the Alexander County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Alexander County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Taylorsville Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for North Carolina here.

The Alexander County Detention Center is located adjacent to the Alexander County Law Enforcement Center, the 164-bed facility provides secure custody for both males and females who have been committed to the custody of the Sheriff of Alexander County.
Inmate Commissary Account - Inmates confined to the Alexander County Detention Center may have the privilege of purchasing certain items from the Detention Center Commissary. To purchase items the inmate must have funds available in their commissary account. Family members may deposit funds for an inmate’s account by leaving the funds in a drop box (located in the Detention Center lobby) provided by Emerald Vending Company of Alexander County. All funds should be secured in an envelope provided at the drop box and should include the inmate's full name. If you have any issues with the commissary services provided please contact the vendor directly.

Inmate Telephone Service - Inmate telephone services are provided by PayTel Communications on a pay-per-call basis. Minutes for inmate collect calls may be purchased by contacting PayTel at 1-800-PAY-TELL. Calls are either $6.00 per 15-minutes or $3.00 per 15-minutes - Check here to see if your number qualifies for the savings

Do not call the Alexander County Detention Center to request information on upcoming inmate court dates.
