Alongside Bachman, other units within ADCRR-Lewis include the Barchey Unit (housing inmates at levels 2-3), Buckley Unit (level 4), Eagle Point (level 2), Morey Unit (level 4), Rast Unit (levels 4-5), Stiner Unit (level 3), and the Sunrise Unit (level 5).

Work crews play a crucial role in the operation of the facility, with assignments spanning various industries and community projects under Arizona Correctional Industries and Intergovernmental Agreements. These crews, primarily sourced from the Bachman Unit, engage in tasks ranging from agricultural work at Hickman’s Egg Farm to manufacturing activities at Playcraft Trailers. Additionally, inmates participate in food service, building maintenance, vehicle maintenance, and general labor crews for the upkeep and maintenance of institutional grounds. The Bachman Unit primarily consists of minimum custody inmates, utilized for offsite work assignments.

Lewis work crews are dispatched daily within local and surrounding communities, including Phoenix and Tonopah, as well as throughout the Lewis Complex itself. Notably, some crews are designated as Fire Crews, presumably tasked with firefighting and related emergency response duties.

In terms of education, the Education Department at ADCRR-Lewis provides a comprehensive array of programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of inmates. These programs encompass special education, mandatory literacy, GED preparation, and vocational training opportunities. For inmates unable to participate in traditional classroom settings due to health or safety concerns, alternative instructional methods such as direct instruction, video/closed circuit instruction, and computer-assisted learning are available.
