Playing a pivotal role, the complex houses an average population of 4,100 convicted male felons across minimum, medium, and high custody institutions. Tasked with providing security, education, and recreation programs, it ensures top-notch security for the public, employees, and inmates. With a workforce of 960 full-time employees, the complex serves as a significant employer in the Yuma County area. Moreover, it offers an inmate work program utilized by local state and community organizations.

**Work Programs** - The WORK INCENTIVE PAY PLAN (WIPP) allows inmates to engage in meaningful employment while supporting their needs. Positions available include those contracted through Arizona Correctional Industries, Wild Land Fire Crew, kitchen roles, groundskeeping, and janitorial positions, depending on the inmate's skill level, education, and security classification. Both full-time and part-time positions are available.

**Education Programs** - Adult Basic Education classes are mandatory for inmates below the Literacy Standard, while a high school education program is accessible for non-graduates. Vocational education, contracted through a local community college, offers instruction in trades such as carpentry, masonry, and plumbing. Higher education is available through correspondence courses at the inmate's expense.

**Treatment Programs** - Treatment/Self Improvement Programs overseen by ADC programs staff or external facilitators include Alcoholics/Narcotics Anonymous (AA/NA), drug treatment, financial management, re-entry preparation, parenting skills, high school education mentoring, music appreciation, Spanish language instruction, and yoga.

**Volunteer Programs** - Inmates actively participate in giving back to communities through fundraising for victims' services and community betterment initiatives. The fundraising committee, comprising inmates and staff, coordinates these efforts. ASPC-Yuma inmates have donated substantial funds and volunteered numerous labor hours to designated agencies, organizations, and projects.
