The Benton Co Jail is a low/medium-security detention center located at 1300 SW 14th St Bentonville, AR which is operated locally by the Benton County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Benton County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Bentonville Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.
New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Officers that are assigned to supervise the various work details that work throughout the county. Deputies/Detention Officers transport inmate work details each day to various work details. The Inmate Work Force Division utilizes both male and female inmate labor on work details throughout Benton County. Only inmates that have nonviolent charges are allowed to work on these outside work details. These inmates are usually county sentenced or incarcerated on probation violations. The Inmate Work Force Division saves Benton County taxpayers tremendous amounts of money on an annual basis by the utilization of free inmate labor and reduced sentence time.
