The Butts County Jail is a detention center located at 835 Ernest Biles Drive Jackson, GA which is operated locally by the Butts County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Butts County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Jackson Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Georgia here.

The Butts County Detention Center is a pre-trial detention center, as well as the largest division at the Butts County Sheriff’s Office. The Detention Center consists of both male and female inmates. There are currently three female dorms with the capacity to house 36 female inmates. There are currently twelve male dorms with the capacity to house 284 males, for the maximum occupancy of 320 inmates.

The staff within the Detention Center consists of twenty eight officers, divided into four teams working twelve hour shifts. The health and well being of the inmates is maintained by our onsite medical department within the facility during the duration of their incarceration in our facility.
