The Carroll County Correctional Facility serves as a vital support labor force, providing supervised inmate crews to various county departments, resulting in significant cost savings for Carroll County while effectively managing the inmate population and fostering opportunities for positive change. CCCI operates under the regulatory authority of the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC). All Inmates are in post-trial confinement. The jail is a pre-trial confinement facility usually housing those who have been arrested and awaiting trial.
With more than 246 state inmates sentenced through the State Court, the facility receives compensation from the GDC at an approximate rate of $22 per day per inmate, covering feeding, clothing, and housing expenses.
Warden Wilson urges Carroll County citizens, employees, and families to exercise caution when interacting with inmates working in the community. Inmates can be identified by their orange or white shirts, and white pants with a dark blue stripe down the leg. Personal conversation, physical contact, conducting business, or providing transportation to inmates is strictly prohibited. Moreover, citizens must refrain from providing contraband such as magazines, money, or cell phones to inmates, as this poses significant risks to individuals' safety.
The facility houses segregation cells for inmates with management, security, or safety issues. Inmates have access to educational and counseling services, including GED programs and support for alcohol and substance abuse. Vocational skills training encompasses automotive repair, asphalt paving, laundry and food services, and heavy road equipment operation. Inmates often participate in supervised work details within the community, engaging in road work and maintenance projects.
In the event of encountering an unsupervised inmate in the community, individuals are advised to immediately contact 770-830-5907 or 911, providing the inmate's location for swift response and resolution.
CCCI maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.
If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.
