The Coryell County TX Jail is a low/medium-security detention center located at 510 Leon St Gatesville, TX which is operated locally by the Coryell County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Coryell County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Gatesville Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Texas here.

The County Jail personnel are responsible for booking in and out all persons arrested and brought to the County Jail, as well as maintaining the security of the facility.

Besides the mass of paperwork to contend with operating the jail, the County Jailer's provide for the welfare and feeding of all inmates. Security of the facility also includes special health care watches on certain inmates.

The booking area is the first stop when your arrested and brought to the Coryell County Jail. All paperwork, pictures and fingerprints are completed at this first stop. Until the complete booking process is completed you will be held in a holding cell. Once processed you'll be moved to general population.

The Coryell County Jail is a 24 hour operation with many responsibilities.
