The Crawford Co Jail is a detention center located at 317 Main St Van Buren, AR which is operated locally by the Crawford County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Crawford County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Van Buren Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. The Detention Center is certified to house 307 inmates, operated in accordance with Jail Standards, which are policies and regulations set by the State of Arkansas. The mission of the Detention Center is to provide a safe, secure and orderly jail. It is the responsibility of the Sheriff to operate a jail facility to house inmates committed by the courts as well as those who are awaiting trial. All meals are approved by a dietician and meet all requirements as established by the State of Arkansas Criminal Detention Facility Standards & the Department of Health. The kitchen is run by inmate labor (trustees).

Visitation Information

Crawford County AR Detention Center - Visitation

Visitation Hours are from 8 AM to 9 PM, 7 Days Week.
NO FOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED IN THE VIDEO VISITATION ROOM. VIOLATORS WILL LOSE THEIR VISITATION PRIVILEGES.
Inmates are allowed 1 visit per week.
There will be times when visits will be rescheduled or cancelled due to Court, Work Assignment, Lock-Down, Sick Call, Attorney Visit, Inmate Housing Re-assignment or other reasons deemed necessary by the facility.
For any reason the Video Equipment fails during your visit, that will be end of the visit. There will be no restarts of the visit.
All Video Visitation must be scheduled no later than 10 PM on the day before the visit. Check the lobby monitor before entering the video visitation room to verify your visit is still on schedule or terminal number has not changed.
If you are unable to make a visit you scheduled you lose your visitation visit for the week.
Scheduling on this web site will allow you to select your visit days and times up to 2 days in advance.
If you received the error message SESSION LIMITS EXCEEDED when scheduling this will indicate 1 of 2 things.

. . .2. The inmate may be on Lockdown or Loss of Visits.
