The Federal Correctional Institution, Butner Low (FCI Butner Low) is a low-security federal prison for men located in Butner. It is part of the Federal Correctional Complex, Butner (FCC) campus and is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. FCI Butner Low was opened in 1995 and is situated approximately 25 miles northwest of Raleigh, the state capital.
