The FCI-Jesup-Camp is a federal prison located at 2600 Hwy 301 S in Jesup, GA. This federal minimum security prison is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to hold inmates who have been convicted to and sentenced for a federal crime through the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

The Federal Correctional Institution, Jesup (FCI Jesup Satellite Camp) is a minimum-security United States federal prison housing male inmates in Georgia. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the US Department of Justice.

FCI Jesup is located 65 miles southwest of Savannah and 105 miles northwest of Jacksonville, FL.

As of 2000, the minimum-security camp of FCI Jesup Camp housed about 300 prisoners, consisting of drug addicts and white-collar criminals. Ben Reyes, who served time in the camp for bribery and conspiracy, said that the camp was "a more relaxed, more bucolic facility" than the Federal Correctional Complex, Beaumont.

Background: FCI Jesup Camp was opened in 1989. A notable inmate is computer hacker Christopher Chainey pleaded guilty (sentenced to 10 years) for gaining unauthorized access to protected computers, and breaking into the personal online accounts of celebrities Scarlett Johansson and Christina Aguilera and posting revealing photos of them on the Internet.

Housing: Inmates at the camp are housed in dormitories.

Health Services: FCI Jesup Camp provides sick call, emergency services, clinic appointments, intake screening, physical examinations, chronic care, medications, dental services, eyeglasses, and HIV testing. Contact lenses and hearing aids are permitted when medically approved. Emergency care is available 24 hours a day. Inmates must submit a triage form in order to be evaluated for routine care needs.

Psychology Services: FCI Jesup Camp offers intake screening, crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, and medication management. Typical offerings include anger management, criminal thinking, and HIV/AIDS Awareness. Inmates must submit a request to staff (cop-out) in order to seek placement in any desired program.

Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP): FCI Jesup Camp houses a Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP). It also offers a Drug Abuse Education Program, the Non-Residential Drug Abuse Program (NR-DAP) and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).

Education Services: FCI Jesup Camp offers literacy, GED, and English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) programs. Adult Continuing Education classes are also offered at all facilities, including Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) legal research, Writing and Analysis, Spanish I, Basic Finance, resume writing, and parenting. A mock job fair is also held annually. Altamaha Technical College (ATC), through the FCI/FSL Jesup Education Department, offers a wide variety of educational courses designed to develop academic and occupational skills. High school diplomas and post-secondary programs are available through paid correspondence programs.

Advanced Occupational Education: FCI Jesup Camp offers Information Technology and Microsoft Office Applications Professional advanced occupational education programs.

Library Services: Law and leisure libraries are available to FCI Jesup Camp inmates. A variety of reading materials, magazines, newspapers, books, and media are available for inmate use. An interlibrary-loan program is also available through the local public library. The law library offers typewriters, a copy machine, and the TRULINCS Electronic Law Library.

UNICOR: The FCI Jesup Camp UNICOR facility produces clothing and textiles.

Commissary: The monthly spending limit at FCI Jesup Camp is $360.00. The commissary has designated shopping days and times. Each inmate must have his commissary list completed, possess his inmate Identification Card, and have his nylon commissary shopping bag with him prior to entering the sales unit. Inmates can purchase a variety of items.

Recreation Services: FCI Jesup Camp provides a recreation yard, leisure games, intramural leagues, music, hobby craft, fitness and wellness, and a movie program.

Commissary List - In 1930 the Department of Justice authorized and established a Commissary at each Federal institution. The Commissary provides a bank type account for your money & for the procurement of articles not issued regularly as part of the institution administration. Funds deposited by your family, friends, or other sources are stored in your commissary account that we maintain.

Covid Visitation Information

We remind all visitors to carefully review our special visiting procedures during the COVID pandemic, and also remind all visitors to observe applicable state and local COVID travel restrictions in planning your visit to the institution.

Please call 912-427-0870 prior to your visit to get the latest updates, time changes or visitation cancellations.

All visitors will be temperature checked with results annotated at the screening site prior to entrance. All staff working the screening site will be in proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Visitors will be in-processed on a first come first serve basis, adhering to social-distancing requirements. If distancing requirements cannot be met, visitors may be asked to wait outside for systematic in-processing to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Inmates on quarantine or isolation status will not be permitted visits - it will be the visitor's responsibility to check with the institution prior to arrival to ensure the scheduled visit can still take place.

The visiting room is designed to maximize social distancing, with a minimum of six feet between persons. Inmates are permitted two visitors per visit. To ensure equal opportunities, the frequency of visits determines any termination. Appropriate face coverings are mandatory for all inmates and visitors, all visitors wearing a mask will be provided one by the institution, theirs will be secured in the lockers in the lobby. No physical contact, photographs, food, or drink is permitted. A hand hygiene station, including alcohol-based hand sanitizer, is available at all visiting entrances and exits. Orderlies are assigned to each visitation room and will continually sanitize all touch surfaces, restrooms, etc.
