The FCI-Three-Rivers-Camp is a federal prison located at US Hwy 72 W in Three Rivers, TX. This federal minimum security prison is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to hold inmates who have been convicted to and sentenced for a federal crime through the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

The Federal Correctional Institution, Three Rivers Satellite Prison Camp (FCI Three Rivers Camp) is a minimum-security United States federal prison for male inmates in Texas. It is operated by Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the US Department of Justice.

FCI Three Rivers is approximately 80 miles south of San Antonio and 73 miles northwest of Corpus Christi.

Housing: Inmates at the camp are housed in dormitories.

Health Services: Within 14 days of arrival, inmates are given a complete physical examination. Sick call, dental call, emergency medical services, eyeglasses, chronic care, medications, physical examinations, HIV testing, and immunizations are all provided at FCI Three Rivers and the satellite camp. Emergency medical care is available 24 hours a day.

Psychology Services: Services provided by the psychology staff are crisis intervention, individual and group therapy, and psycho-educational programs (e.g., Anger Management, Stress Management, and Communication Skills). Notices of upcoming offerings are posted on bulletin boards in inmate housing units.

Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP): FCI Three Rivers Camp does not house a Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), but do refer to facilities that do provide the program. The facility does offer drug treatment programs, relapse prevention groups, a Drug Abuse Education Program, and the Non-Residential Drug Abuse Treatment Program (NR-DAP).

Education Services: FCI Three Rivers offers literacy, GED, and English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) programs. Graduation ceremonies are conducted once a year for students completing GED, ESL, and vocational training classes. A bonus of $25.00 is awarded for completion of GED, ESL or VT programs. Certificates from the institution are also awarded for completion of ACE, Parenting, GED, and ESL classes. In addition, a Student of the Month is chosen each month from classes in the Literacy program for significant progress in their studies as well as dedication and hard work. The Student of the Month is rewarded with a day off from school and work cleared through the Supervisor of Education and Unit Manager. Upon completion of each 240 hours of satisfactory progress, students are awarded a day off from school. Other incentives are awarded based on progress through the Literacy Program. A parenting program and Adult Continuing Education (ACE) courses are also offered. An employment resource center is also available to assist inmates within 24 months of release prepare for post-incarceration. High school diplomas and post-secondary programs are available through paid correspondence programs.

Advanced Occupational Education: FCI Three Rivers Camp offers advanced occupational education in Building Trades, HVAC, Microsoft Applications, and Welding.

Apprenticeship: FCI Three Rivers Camp offers apprenticeships in Electrical Apprentice, HVAC, and Plumbing.

Library Services: Leisure and law libraries are available at both facilities. The leisure library has books available for checkout and DVDs available for viewing. Both fiction and nonfiction books, newspapers, and magazines are available for inmate reading. Inmates are provided access to legal materials and an opportunity to prepare legal documents through the use of the TRULINCS Electronic Law Library. A copying machine is available to reproduce materials needed for research. Electric typewriters are also available for inmate use.

Commissary: The commissary spending limitation is $360.00 per month on a designated shopping day. The shopping day is based on the meal rotation roster generated by the Institution Duty Officer utilizing the weekly sanitation scores. Over-the-counter medications, copy cards, and postage stamps do not count against the spending limit. Foods, snacks, beverages, clothing, shoes, and electronics are also available for purchase.

Recreation Services: FCI Three Rivers Camp recreation activities include hobby craft (e.g., arts, leather craft, painting, beadwork), leisure, and fitness programs (e.g., walk/run club, abdominal fitness workout, yoga), intramural sports, and a band/music program. Activities including basketball, soccer, softball, flag football, handball/racquetball, bocce ball, horseshoes, and volleyball, are also offered.

Familiarizing yourself with this information and knowing your responsibilities will help you to adjustment to institution life.

Commissary List - In 1930 the Department of Justice authorized and established a Commissary at each Federal institution. The Commissary provides a bank type account for your money & for the procurement of articles not issued regularly as part of the institution administration. Funds deposited by your family, friends, or other sources are stored in your commissary account that we maintain.

Covid Visitation Information

We remind all visitors to carefully review our special visiting procedures during the COVID pandemic, and also remind all visitors to observe applicable state and local COVID travel restrictions in planning your visit to the institution.

Please call 361-786-3576 prior to your visit to get the latest updates, time changes or visitation cancellations.

All visitors will be temperature checked with results annotated at the screening site prior to entrance. All staff working the screening site will be in proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Visitors will be in-processed on a first come first serve basis, adhering to social-distancing requirements. If distancing requirements cannot be met, visitors may be asked to wait outside for systematic in-processing to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Inmates on quarantine or isolation status will not be permitted visits - it will be the visitor's responsibility to check with the institution prior to arrival to ensure the scheduled visit can still take place.

The visiting room is designed to maximize social distancing, with a minimum of six feet between persons. Inmates are permitted two visitors per visit. To ensure equal opportunities, the frequency of visits determines any termination. Appropriate face coverings are mandatory for all inmates and visitors, all visitors wearing a mask will be provided one by the institution, theirs will be secured in the lockers in the lobby. No physical contact, photographs, food, or drink is permitted. A hand hygiene station, including alcohol-based hand sanitizer, is available at all visiting entrances and exits. Orderlies are assigned to each visitation room and will continually sanitize all touch surfaces, restrooms, etc.
