The FCI-Williamsburg-Camp is a federal prison located at 8301 Hwy 521 in Salters, SC. This federal minimum security prison is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to hold inmates who have been convicted to and sentenced for a federal crime through the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

The Federal Correctional Institution Satellite Prison Camp, Williamsburg (FCI Williamsburg Camp) is a minimum-security United States federal prison for male inmates in South Carolina. It is run by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the US Department of Justice. Inmates at the camp are housed in dormitories.

Health Services: FCI Williamsburg Camp provides sick calls, clinical and dental care, physical exams, chronic care, emergency medical care, and pharmacy services. Eyeglasses and hearing aids can also be made available. Emergency medical care is available 24 hours a day.

Psychology Services: FCI Williamsburg Camp offers intake exams, psycho-educational classes on Anger and Stress Management, and a focus on sexual abuse/assault prevention and intervention. Additional programs include Smoking Sensation, People in Prison Entering Sobriety, self-image groups, and other voluntary groups.

Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP): FCI Williamsburg Camp does not house a Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP). A Drug Education class, the Non-Residential Drug Abuse Program (NR-DP), Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA) are available.

Education Services: FCI Williamsburg Camp offers GED and English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) programs. Social education, life skills, parenting, Adult Continuing Education (ACE), and career counseling,/release preparation programs are also available. High school diplomas and post-secondary programs are available through paid correspondence programs.

Advanced Occupational Education: FCI Williamsburg Camp advanced occupational education programs include Culinary Arts, NCCER Core, Residential Carpentry, and ServSafe.

Apprenticeship: FCI Williamsburg Camp offers apprenticeships in Custodial Maintenance, HVAC, and Plumbing.

Library Services: The leisure library offers reference books, magazines, and newspapers that are available for checkout in the library only. An Inter-Library Loan program is offered in conjunction with the South Carolina State Library System. A law library is available for inmates, which contains the TRULINCS Electronic Law Library, typewriters, and a copy machine.

Commissary: Inmates can spend a maximum of $360.00 per month on items such as food, beverages, radios, MP3 players, clothing, and more. All inmates must be in possession of their Inmate Account card for all transactions associated with the Trust Fund Sales Unit. Copy cards, postage stamps, and over-the-counter medications do not count against this spending limit. Sales hours are posted by memorandum for the FCI Williamsburg Camp in the housing units.

Recreation Services: Indoor and outdoor recreational activities are available for inmates at FCI Williamsburg. Programs include intramural sports, community-based sports (at the discretion of the Executive Staff), informal sports, physical fitness and wellness, special events, hobby craft, music, movies, and other leisure time activities. Specific interests and additional recreational activities are considered when demand appears to be sufficient to make other programs feasible. A gymnasium, softball fields, jogging track, soccer field, handball, bocce ball, basketball, and volleyball courts are available. A leisure recreation area for board games, a wellness resource library, and sports television viewing are also available.

Familiarizing yourself with this information and knowing your responsibilities will help you to adjustment to institution life.

Commissary List - In 1930 the Department of Justice authorized and established a Commissary at each Federal institution. The Commissary provides a bank-type account for your money & for the procurement of articles not issued regularly as part of the institution administration. Funds deposited by your family, friends, or other sources are stored in your commissary account that we maintain.

Covid Visitation Information

We remind all visitors to carefully review our special visiting procedures during the COVID pandemic, and also remind all visitors to observe applicable state and local COVID travel restrictions in planning your visit to the institution.

Please call 843-387-9400 prior to your visit to get the latest updates, time changes or visitation cancellations.

All visitors will be temperature checked with results annotated at the screening site prior to entrance. All staff working the screening site will be in proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Visitors will be in-processed on a first come first serve basis, adhering to social-distancing requirements. If distancing requirements cannot be met, visitors may be asked to wait outside for systematic in-processing to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Inmates on quarantine or isolation status will not be permitted visits - it will be the visitor's responsibility to check with the institution prior to arrival to ensure the scheduled visit can still take place.

The visiting room is designed to maximize social distancing, with a minimum of six feet between persons. Inmates are permitted two visitors per visit. To ensure equal opportunities, the frequency of visits determines any termination. Appropriate face coverings are mandatory for all inmates and visitors, all visitors wearing a mask will be provided one by the institution, theirs will be secured in the lockers in the lobby. No physical contact, photographs, food, or drink is permitted. A hand hygiene station, including alcohol-based hand sanitizer, is available at all visiting entrances and exits. Orderlies are assigned to each visitation room and will continually sanitize all touch surfaces, restrooms, etc.
