This facility, with a capacity for 918 inmates, provides comprehensive mental health services, including Level IV and Crisis Stabilization, catering to the diverse needs of its inmate population. Additionally, it serves as the host facility for Atlanta Medical Center and the Phillips Transitional Center.

The housing at Phillips State Prison comprises 10 living units, each housing two dormitories. Seven and a half units feature two-man cells, while the remainder consists of a combination of single-man cells, specifically designed for MH/SM (Mental Health/Substance Abuse) inmates. The facility also houses 100 isolation/segregation cells and a Transitional Center with 310 beds. Moreover, Phillips State Prison accommodates a Special Management Unit (SMU) and various specialized teams, including a C.E.R.T. Team, Tactical Squad, and Canine Unit.

In terms of work details, Phillips State Prison offers 10 different assignments to surrounding municipalities and counties, with additional opportunities for work on the facility's grounds and through Georgia Correctional Industries. Visitation Information

VISITATION DAYS / HOURS:

  • DAYS: Saturdays, Sundays, and State Holidays

The first step in the visitation process is to become an approved visitor. To do so, you must first fill out the Visitation Request Form and submit a completed form to the facility where your loved one is incarcerated. Please include a copy of supporting documentation (photo id, marriage license, and birth certificate) along with the application. Consent forms must be notarized before they can be processed. All visitors must apply regardless of age. They must also be mailed to the facility where the offender is currently housed (email forms will not be accepted).

Dress Code - For adults: No tank tops, no mesh or see-through clothing, t-shirts cannot be sleeveless. No chest, shoulders, or stomach exposed. A skirt may not be more than 2 inches above the knee. No stretch pants or shorts may be worn. Only children are permitted to wear shorts. No Contraband is Permitted
