The Hamilton County IA Jail is a detention center located at 2300 Superior St Webster City, IA which is operated locally by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Hamilton County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Webster City Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. The Hamilton County Jail was opened in October of 2004. The Jail can hold up to 44 prisoners. The Hamilton County Jail holds prisoners for Hamilton County, US Marshal's Service, The Federal Bureau of Prisons, State of Iowa, and other surrounding Counties on an as needed basis.

Inmates will be allowed to make phone calls to family and friends from phones in the jail by calling collect or by purchasing phone cards. Phone cards are $10 for 20 minutes or $20 for 40 minutes.
