The Liberty Co Jail is a detention center located at 180 Paul Sikes Dr Hinesville, GA which is operated locally by the Liberty County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Liberty County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Hinesville Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Georgia here.

ITEMS ALLOWED IN HOUSING AREA Family or friends may bring underwear to the inmate during the first 72 hours of their incarceration. This underwear must be new, still closed in the package and solid white. You may bring 6 pairs of socks, 6 T-Shirts and 6 pairs of undershorts. Women may have 3 bras to replace the T-Shirts but they must be solid white and wireless. After 72 hours, the inmate may purchase these items from the store call. Inmates will only be allowed 6 each of these items and will take the items with them when they leave.

RELEASING PERSONAL PROPERTY If an inmate would like to release personal property to an individual, the inmate must fill out a property release form. Anyone claiming the property or money must show proper identification. All money will be given in check form that may be cashed at the Heritage Bank in Hinesville with proper identification. The property release request form must be initiated by the inmate. Jail Staff will not contact inmates requesting they release money to anyone.

INMATE COMMUNICATION Telephones will be available during the hours of 9:00 am until 8:00 pm, 7 days a week. The family or friends must set up a Regent Pay Account for inmates to make any calls out. That number is 1-877-618-3516. Once this account is set up, the family MUST contact the jail and we will let the inmate know the account is set up and they may begin calling out. Phone calls from the booking area will be allowed when the inmate is booked in and when they get a bond set. We can let inmates know within the first 72 hours that they have a phone account set up after that send a postcard.

PLACING MONEY ON THE INMATE ACCOUNT A Kiosk machine (resembling an ATM machine) is located in the jail’s front lobby, located at 180 Paul Sikes Dr., Hinesville, GA. 31313. Anyone may deposit cash or use a credit card/ bank card to apply funds to the inmate’s commissary account. Visitation Information

Liberty County Jail - Visitation

Visitation is assigned based on the bay an inmate is in. If an inmate is moved to a different bay, it is their responsibility to notify visitors of the time change. Inmates are allowed four visitors on their list with the option to change the list every 60 days. Children under the age of seventeen will be permitted to visit on the weekend that begins with the third Friday of each month and must be accompanied by an authorized adult visitor. Children will not be left unattended in the visitation areas. The inmates make the choice of who is on the visitation list. Jail personnel are not authorized to give this information out. It is the inmate’s responsibility to notify those on his list. If they do not, you can find out by arriving at the jail during inmates visitation time. If you are not on the list, you will be turned away.

Ask The Inmate

Ask a former inmate questions at no charge. The inmate answering has spent considerable time in the federal prison system, state and county jails, and in a prison that was run by the private prison entity CCA. Ask your question or browse previous questions in response to comments or further questions of members of the InmateAid community.
