Located in Lockhart, TX, Lockhart Secure Work Program operates as a private contractor with various government agency agreements providing state-minimum custody requirements. The facility, managed by the Private Facility Contract Monitoring/Oversight Division and overseen by Senior Warden Jennifer Brown, has a maximum capacity to house 500 female and 500 male offenders of custody levels G1 and G2. It spans approximately 31 acres and employs a total of 204 staff, including security, non-security, education, and medical personnel.

Lockhart Correctional Facility provides a range of programs and services aimed at rehabilitation and skill development for its inmate population. Educational programs offered include Adult Basic Education, Pre-GED, GED, and Life Skills courses. Additionally, vocational programs such as Computer Operating Systems Technology and Business Computer Information Systems are available to enhance inmates' job skills and employability upon release.

The facility also offers various additional programs and services, including a Faith-Based Dormitory, Adult Education Program (subject to availability), PAWS in Prison, and Chaplaincy Services. Community work projects are undertaken to provide services to city and county agencies, as well as local organizations. Volunteer initiatives cover areas such as literacy/education, employment/job skills, substance abuse education, life skills, parent training, support groups, victims awareness, and religious/faith-based studies and activities.

Managed by the Management and Training Corporation (MTC), the Lockhart Correctional Facility operates manufacturing and logistics programs such as On-Shore Resources and Henderson Controls, both certified under the Prison Industry Enhancement (PIE) program. Medical services, including ambulatory medical and dental care, are provided onsite and managed by UTMB. The facility remains committed to promoting rehabilitation, education, and positive behavior among its inmate population while preparing them for successful reintegration into society.
