Madison Co Jail is for County Jail offenders sentenced up to twenty four months.

The Madison Co Jail is a detention center located at 107 W Irvine St Richmond, KY which is operated locally by the Madison County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Madison County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Richmond Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Inmate Phone Cards - Phone cards can be purchased online or at the jail. These phone cards can be used by inmates at the Madison County Detention Center to make calls from the jail to outside landlines and cell phone numbers.

Inmate Account Deposits - Money can be deposited into Madison County Detention Center Inmates accounts online or at the jail. This may be used to purchase items through the commissary program and to purchase Inmate Phone Cards.

Visitation Information

Madison County KY Detention Center - Visitation

All visits will be conducted electronically through the GTL Phone and Tablet System.

Inmates will receive 30 (thirty) minutes a week for free after the first 30 minutes (thirty) the cost is $.20 (20 cents) per minute.

Family and friends can visit inmates using their personal smartphones, or personal computers. You may also make use of the GTL Kiosk located in the front office of the Madison County Detention Center or at Door 68 of the Madison County Detention Center.

If you do not have access to a computer you may visit the Madison County Detention Center and use one of the GTL Kiosks in the front office or Door 68.
