The WCCF is a low/medium-security detention center located at 2460 MS-25 Louisville, MS which is operated locally by the Winston Regional Authority and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates have been here for less than five years. WCCF accepts inmates from the Winston County Sheriff's arrests and surrounding towns, Louisville Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. The Winston County Correctional Facility (WCCRCF) is a regional correctional facility with a maximum capacity of 380 inmates, catering to both state and county offenders. Established in March 1999, the facility plays a vital role in the local economy of Winston County by providing employment opportunities and contributing revenue. Additionally, WCCRCF offers maintenance services to the County, further enhancing its impact on the community.

The facility is committed to the rehabilitation and education of its inmates and offers various programs to support this mission. These programs include General Education Development (GED) and Adult Basic Education courses to enhance literacy and academic skills among inmates. Moreover, WCCRCF provides Pre-Release programs to prepare inmates for successful reentry into society upon their release. In addition to educational and rehabilitation programs, WCCRCF offers Discipleship Training Levels I - VIII to promote spiritual growth and personal development among inmates.
