Located at 3151 Litton Rd in Chillicothe, MO, CCC carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.
The CCC is a Missouri state prison for women located in Chillicothe, Livingston County. Operated by the Missouri Department of Corrections, this $120 million facility opened in late 2008 and can accommodate up to 1,740 inmates across various security levels. The previous prison, established in 1888 as the Chillicothe Industrial Home for Girls, was located in downtown Chillicothe at 1500 Third Street.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the CCC faced challenges, reporting 252 positive cases among inmates and 27 among staff. Notable inmates housed at the facility include Alyssa Dailene Bustamante, convicted of the 2009 murder of her 9-year-old neighbor and serving a life sentence, with the earliest chance of release in 2054; Pam Hupp, convicted of murdering Louis Gumpenberger and serving a life sentence without parole; and Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who pled guilty to 2nd-degree murder for the 2015 stabbing death of her mother. Blanchard, the subject of the HBO documentary "Mommy Dead and Dearest" and "The Act," was released on December 28, 2023.
CCC maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.
