Located at 30 Institution Rd in Napanoch, NY, ENYCF carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. ENYCF offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.
ENYCF, situated in Ulster County, serves as a maximum-security prison for adult males, with a capacity to house approximately 1,000 state inmates. The facility actively participates in Correctional Industries, providing opportunities for inmates to work in various on-site shops including mattress manufacturing, metalworking, and sign/silkscreen production.
Inmates at Eastern NYCF are encouraged to enroll in programming courses aimed at acquiring new skills for use upon release. Vocational training offerings encompass a range of fields such as building maintenance, culinary arts, masonry, welding, painting, and Braille transcription. Additionally, the facility provides access to alcohol and substance abuse treatment programs, often mandated by the court.
A notable feature of Eastern New York Correctional Facility is its youth assistance program, wherein inmates offer positive guidance to at-risk youths from the surrounding region. This initiative seeks to divert their behavior away from delinquency, fostering a sense of responsibility and mentorship among incarcerated individuals.
ENYCF maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.
If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.

Monday – Friday 9:00AM to 3:30PM (Latest arrival 3:00PM)
Weekends & Holidays 9:00AM to 3:00PM (Latest arrival 2:30PM)
Special Housing Unit Visiting Days & Hours:
Visitation Schedule: Weekday visitation is open to all incarcerated individuals with no DIN restrictions. Weekend and Holiday visitation is divided into specific segments of population by the last digit of the DIN. See attached schedule
Maximum Number of Visits per Day: One (1)
Maximum Number of Visitors per Visit: Four (4)
Visiting Room Overcrowding Policy: In the event that space considerations require termination of visits, the following procedure will be followed:
1) Request voluntary termination from any visitor first.
2) If no volunteers, those visitors who arrived first will be asked to leave, taking into consideration incarcerated individuals who have not had a visit in six (6) months, and distance traveled by visitor(s).
