When someone you care about gets locked up, it's tough to figure out all the ins and outs of jail life. From sending mail to visiting, there are a lot of things to sort out. And getting info about the arrest? Not always easy. That's where this webpage comes in handy. It's here to help you get a handle on how things work at Racine County Jail (RJC) so you can stay connected and support your loved one behind bars.
The Racine Co Jail is a detention center located at 717 Wisconsin Ave Racine, WI which is operated locally by the Racine County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Racine County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Racine Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.
New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Wisconsin here.
The RCJ is one of the largest pre-detention facilities in the state of Wisconsin, with maximum bed space for 876 detainees. The facility covers an entire city block in the downtown area of Racine complete with its own health and mental health services, privatized food and commissary services, one of the state's only in-house AODA programs, Chaplain's programming, law library, visiting area and newly innovated video visitation services.
To utilize the Inmate Search page on InmateAid, begin by selecting the relevant prison facility in Wisconsin. This allows you to view the current list of inmates housed at Racine County Jail (RJC).
The second section features the InmateAid Inmate Search tool, providing a user-generated database of inmates. You can access this resource to utilize any of InmateAid's services. If you require assistance in creating an inmate profile to maintain communication, please contact us at aid@inmateaid.com, and we'll gladly help you locate your loved one.
As a last resort, you might have to pay for that information if we do not have it. The Arrest Record Search will cost you a small amount, but their data is the freshest available and for that reason, they charge to access it.
Emergencies in the jail sometimes require the cancellation of all visits. The people who enter or exit the jail, along with items brought into the jail, are subject to search to ensure the safe, secure, and orderly operation of the jail and to control contraband and provide for its disposition. Any person entering the secure perimeter of the jail is subject to a visual, pat and/or frisk search performed by staff of the same sex as the person being searched. Any person who is not in custody and who elects not to submit to such search will not be permitted to remain and will be directed out of the jail.
Inmates classified as Minimum Inmates, AODA, Huber, Community Service Workers, and Inmate Workers may receive a non-contact visit (behind glass with telephone) from an outside person (family or friend) on Sunday during the visitation time scheduled for their security level-housing unit.
