Located at 938 S FM 1673 in Snyder, TX, Price Daniel Unit carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. Price Daniel Unit offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.
The Price Daniel Unit, exclusively for male inmates, has a capacity of 504 individuals and accommodates custody levels spanning from G1 to G4, including safekeeping. Nestled across 579 acres, the facility engages in agricultural operations, cultivating edible and field crops, and maintains security measures with horses and pack canines.
Further contributing to the facility's operations are its manufacturing and logistics operations, including a freight terminal and Snyder Distribution Center. Unit maintenance ensures the smooth functioning of the facility, while the Windham Region V Administrative Office coordinates administrative tasks.
Medical services provided at Price Daniel encompass ambulatory medical, dental, and mental health care, augmented by telemedicine services and housing equipped to accommodate CPAP needs. All medical services are conveniently located on a single level and are overseen by Texas Tech.
Educational opportunities are abundant, with literacy and special education programs, pre-release initiatives like CHANGES, and cognitive intervention courses. Career and technology programs equip inmates with practical skills in bricklaying/stone masonry, construction carpentry, and computer repair, offered through Western Texas College Vocational programs.
In addition to educational endeavors, the facility provides various programs and services to support inmate rehabilitation and personal development. These include chaplaincy services, a faith-based dormitory, the GO KIDS Initiative, peer education efforts, and reentry planning assistance.
Price Daniel Unit actively contributes to the community through various work projects, extending services to city agencies, the local school district, organizations, and governmental departments such as the Texas Department of Transportation and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Volunteer initiatives at the facility focus on substance abuse education, life skills development, support groups, and engaging in religious or faith-based studies and activities. Price Daniel Unit maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.
If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.

Special visits or visits requiring special accommodations should be arranged before the visit. If you have made special arrangements with the unit, call before leaving to ensure that plans for your visit have been made and are in place. Spiritual visits must be coordinated through the warden’s office.
Each inmate is only allowed one visit per weekend. To the extent possible, individuals on an inmate’s Visitors List should coordinate with one another and with the inmate to prevent subsequent visitors from being declined when they arrive at the unit.
