The Yakima County Jail is a detention center located at 111 N Front St Yakima, WA which is operated locally by the Yakima County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Yakima County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Yakima Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.
New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Washington here.
The Yakima County Corrections does not provide court date and time information as it is always changing, instead, we ask that you contact the court that will be hearing the case. You can access court contact information online. The jail staff is not able to deliver routine messages to inmates. Inmates have access to a phone to place collect calls and you can also send them a letter.
Inmate Funds - Funds mailed in to inmates shall be in an envelope addressed to the jail and must state the inmate’s name, location, and resident or booking number. “For Deposit Only” must be clearly marked on the outside of the envelope. Funds may be placed on an inmate’s trust account by mailing to the jail a Cashier’s Check (official check) or money order written out to the “Yakima County Jail” along with the inmate’s name and jail resident or booking number. Inmate Phone Service - Inmates have the ability to place collect, prepaid collect and debit calls. Prepaid collect and debit account options are set up and funded by friends and family members of the inmates.
Collect Calls - When receiving a call, you will first hear a prerecorded message stating the correctional facility’s name and the name of the inmate who is asking you to receive the collect call. At that point you can:
Prepaid Calls - Not all telephones can accept collect calls (including cell phones). In order to receive calls to these particular telephones, you will need to set up a prepaid collect account for your telephone number or you can fund the inmate’s facility debit account. To set up a prepaid collect account or to fund an existing account, you will need to call Securus Technologies directly by calling 800-844-6591. Prepaid collect accounts are set up for particular phone numbers and will only allow the inmate to dial the number set up on the account. Funding an inmate’s debit account will allow the inmate to dial any telephone number as approved by the facility.
Calling Rules - There is a 15-minute telephone call time limit. After 15 minutes, the telephone call will automatically disconnect.

Number of Visitors
Limitations on the number of visitors who visit are imposed to prevent crowding in the visiting room(s) or to eliminate difficulties in supervising the visit. Each Inmate may have up to 2 visitors per session. Children count as a visitor. All inmates in the general population are allowed two 30-minute visits per week.
Visitor Entry Into Facility
All visitors shall be required to identify themselves with proper identification. Proper Identification is defined as any valid federal or state issued ID card or passport.
Visitor Registration
All visitors shall be required to register on the Visitor Registration Form provided for this purpose. Only scheduled visitors may visit. Registration on this form shall require the name and address of the visitor, the relationship of the visitor to the inmate, and date and time of the visit. Visitors shall not enter any areas of the facility except approved routes to and from the visiting areas, and shall not linger in or upon facility property at the conclusion of the visit.
Visitors Clothing - All Facilities
In order to maintain a positive environment for all inmates and visitors, a reasonable clothing standard must be established. Visitors are encouraged to wear clothing that is conservative in nature in order to maintain a respectful visiting environment.
