Visitation Hours

Visiting hours for MPCF are subject to change, so it's crucial to confirm them by contacting the facility directly by phone. Please reach out to 319-385-9511, on visitation procedures, applications, or directions to the facility in Mt. Pleasant. Please note that visitors will undergo a thorough search before entering the premises, and personal belongings, including cell phones, are strictly prohibited. Individuals under probation, parole, or community corrections supervision must obtain approval from both their supervising officer and the superintendent before visiting, although such visits are not typically approved.

General Visitation Information

Visiting:

The Iowa Department of Corrections utilizes a reservation system called Ameelio to schedule/reserve In-Person and Video Visits. To sign up and schedule your visits please visit our visiting information page here: Institution Visiting

MPCF-Main Building In-Person Visiting: (Limit of 2 visitors per visit): Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (by reservation in Ameelio App)

MPCF-Main Building Video Visiting: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 1:00 pm to 7:30 pm (Ameelio App only)
MPCF- Minimum Live Out - Video Visiting: Saturday and Sunday 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm (Ameelio App only)

MPCF Minimum Live Out- In-Person Visiting: (Limit of 2 visitors per visit): Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (by reservation in Ameelio App)

Video visitation is scheduled and conducted only through the Ameelio App
*In-Person visitation is scheduled through the Ameelio app.

Reminder: Per the Department visitation policy, all visitors upon entrance to the institutions shall be subject to search. Security and contraband control are critical operational requirements, necessitating a search of all visitors by trained correctional staff. Searches may include but are not limited to, a pat down, metal detectors, electronic ion scanners, other electronic devices, or visual searches. If visitors refuse to comply with the Department visitation policy, entrance to the visiting room will be denied.
