How to Find a GDC Number for an Inmate at McEver PDC?

I was told that my fiance' was transferred from Douglas County GA to McEver Probation Detention Center about 2 weeks ago. I have searched VINELINK and McEver but can not get his inmate number or GDC number so I can mail him a letter or money. Can someone please help me?

VINELink is a useful tool for some things but it does not always have complete or current information for Georgia state inmates, particularly those in probation detention centers. The more reliable source is the Georgia Department of Corrections offender search directly at dcor.state.ga.us. That database pulls from GDC's own records and is more likely to reflect a recent transfer than third-party notification systems.

Search using his full legal name and date of birth. If he has been processed into the GDC system at McEver, his GDC number and current location should come up. That number is what you need to send mail and deposit money.

If he still does not appear after two weeks, call McEver Probation Detention Center directly and ask to speak with the unit secretary or records office. Give them his full name and date of birth and ask them to confirm he is housed there and provide his GDC number. That is the most direct path to getting the information you need when the online search is not cooperating.

Once you have his number, InmateAid can help you send letters and find the right deposit method for that facility.
