Is jail time considered prison time?

My sister just got sent to prison they gave her 2 yrs then they said 1 year. . she was in jail for 4 months and then sent to prison is that considered time served and when should she be getting out est time?

Any time you do incarcerated anywhere will go towards an impending or imposed sentence. She will get credit for the four months in county. We can't tell from your question if it's a one or two year sentence you're asking.
