My husband is @ Burke County CRV. I haven't heard from him in over 2 weeks there is money on his account. I have called the facility they are telling me he is in restricted housing. What does this mean, and how long does it normally last?

Restricted housing is solitary confinement or "the hole". Evidently he was cited for some violation and as a punishment he has been sent to the hole. There is really no way of knowing how long this will be. There is literally no limit to the amount of you an inmate could spend there. It depends on what he went in there for. Was it contraband, a cellphone? Was he fighting? Or worse?

Typically an inmate will be allowed to write and receive letters, but telephone use might be restricted to one 15-minute call per week - or none at all. You should definitely start writing him everyday just to get an idea of how long it'll take for the mail to reach him. If they are delaying his mail, that is not a good sign (that would be result of something really bad). But  try calling the facility again and see if they will tell you what is in the "incident report". If you get that info, write back and we'll let you know what we know about it.
