My inmate's parole date is 2018 can he get out in 2017?

If his release date is Max is 8 years and his min is 5 years how long will he stay there? His parole date is 2018 can he get out in 2017?

We do not see a way that he would get released before his first parole date.

We do not see a way that he would get released before his first parole date. Most inmates do not get parole on the first try, but some do. If his first chance at release via parole is 2018 then that is probably the best case scenario for him. The early release depends mostly on him. If he follows all of the recommended programming set by his counselor, does his time without an incident report and can convey his contrition to the Parole Board, then he will have a shot at getting out at the 60 month mark. If not, then the 96 month sentence will be about 82 months (with good time calculated) and what he might have to do.
