Knowing more about the case will help locate that information. What was he charged with? What jurisdiction charged him (state, federal)? Was there violence?  Sometimes when someone is arrested near the weekend, they will make them wait until Monday for arraignment. Possibly the judge was not available. You could call the facility and ask - or call the Clerk of the Court as they would know too.

Yes, inmates are allowed to have glasses or contact lenses. Glasses might be easier to care for in the event that the commissary doesn't have a good selection of eye care solution to maintain it.  Some facilities will provide eyewear for the inmates, give them an exam and the glasses  If you are going to send them, you should call the facility and let them know your intention - get a name of a staff person who will receive them

The county jails do not accept any form of health insurance - and it's because your insurance doesn't cover you while incarcerated. If he needs dental work or especially a root canal, then he will definitely have money taken from his account to cover the cost. There are some county jails where the inmates even have to pay for their incarceration - a daily rate.

Probation violation of any kind is usually not a good thing.  The sentencing judge is almost always the decision-maker and they frown upon people coming back in front of them, especially while on probation.

Generally speaking prisons do not allow clothing to be shipped into a prison (there are some exceptions). Prisons provide clothing and the commissary has workout clothing that can be bought and then worn when not in uniform. Our advice is to wait until your inmate can provide information about that facility and whether or not they allow it.

Books MUST be sent by the publisher like Amazon.com. Once the package arrives at the prison the staff will open it and inspect them for contraband. The time it takes from the mail room to inmate "mail call" could vary by facility, we have no control once inside the prison.
