Local calling prices are as much as 90% less than long distance calls. You will only pay the jail telephone company for the local call, InmateAid provides the long distance at about 6.6 cents per minute.

You may use our letter writing service to notify your inmate of the new number, we will give you a coupon code which will pay for it. If they are moved to a different facility send us an email at aid.inmateaid.com with the new facility name and state, we will have the new number for you within an hour

The member has the responsibility to get the new local number to the inmate. If you would like a coupon for the letter service, please let us know and we will pay for it so that you can notify your inmate of the change.

Yes, Securus will always get something for connecting the calls from the prison, they have the contract to tape record the calls and can charge higher rates than normal because there is no competition to push prices lower. Your decision to use us is based on how much calling you will do. We estimate there is a savings of $5 to $15 per call, with 10 or more calls per month, the savings more than pay for the $19.95 service

Our policy is simply:  "Let us know the new facility name and we will get a new number for you in an hour; no charge!"

Putting money on their books allows them to buy phone cards which will by-pass any fees that Infinity charges to set up a pre-paid account. One downside, once the money is in the inmate's account, they can use it as they choose, so they can call other people or use the money for items sold at the commissary. It really depends on the facility, they all have a separate set of rules. Inmates get a handbook when they are first processed which has all of the rules and regulations. We estimate the letters take 1-3 business days to reach the prison or jail. Once inside the facility, the staff opens each piece and inspects the contents for contraband. Sometimes this process delays the actual delivery to the inmate. Depending upon where your inmate is, it could be as strict as 300 minutes a month or they can have unlimited calling and access.
