Three Rivers Federal Satellite Camp is a minimum security federal facility and the orientation process there follows a fairly predictable pattern that will help you plan your first contact.
Orientation
Orientation at Three Rivers is typically conducted once a week on Wednesdays and runs practically the entire day. Until your fiance completes orientation he will have limited access to facility services including the phone system and visitation list setup. If he arrived mid-week he may wait several days before his orientation date arrives.
Phone calls
After orientation your fiance will meet with his counselor or unit manager to set up his approved call list. Your number needs to be submitted and approved before he can call you. He will also need money on his phone account to make outgoing calls. Without funds available calls cannot go through regardless of whether your number is approved.
To make sure he can call you as soon as his list is approved have money ready to deposit into his account before orientation week. InmateAid's Send Money service can help you get funds to him quickly.
Visitation
You may visit once he notifies you that his visitation list has been approved by the facility. Do not make the trip until he confirms approval as unapproved visitors will be turned away regardless of their relationship to the inmate. As his emergency contact and power of attorney holder you should be prioritized on his list but the facility approval process still applies.
Federal inmates at Three Rivers have access to the TRULINCS system for electronic messaging. Your fiance can set up your email contact through TRULINCS after orientation. Messages are not instant and all communications are monitored.
Everything You Need
InmateAid has a dedicated page for Three Rivers Satellite Camp where you can send money, books, letters, newspapers, and magazines directly to the facility. Having these services ready before his first call will make both of your lives significantly easier in those first difficult weeks.
