He was on parole when he recieved 3-Misdemeanors & was sent back to prison after spending 4-Months in county jail for misdemeanors. How long will he be in prison before he get released again? While in prison will he get his medications for Schizophrenia, Manic BIPOLAR DEPRESSION, Thyroid, Pain meds, & Sickle Cell? Will he get psychiatric counseling or see psychiatrist?

There are a few different parts to your question, so I will break them down clearly.

Visitation
After he arrives at a TDCJ unit like Gurney, he will go through intake and classification. During this time, visits are not allowed. Once he is assigned to general population and completes processing, visitation can begin. This usually takes a few weeks, but it can vary.

You will also need to be on his approved visitation list. He has to submit your name, and the unit must approve it before you can schedule a visit. You can confirm his status through the TDCJ inmate locator and the unit’s visitation page.

Release timeline
Since he was on parole and picked up new charges, this is considered a parole violation. The exact time he will serve depends on:

  • The parole board’s decision
  • Whether his parole was fully revoked
  • Any credit for time already served in county jail
  • The remaining balance of his original sentence

There is no standard answer for how long he will stay. Some people are re-released after a short period, while others may have to serve a significant portion of their remaining sentence. The only way to know for sure is through his parole paperwork or by contacting the TDCJ parole division.

Medical care and medications
TDCJ does provide medical and mental health care. If he has documented conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, thyroid issues, pain conditions, or sickle cell, he should be evaluated by medical staff during intake.

Medications are provided based on what the prison medical team approves. They may continue the same prescriptions or adjust them depending on their evaluation.

Mental health services are also available. He can be seen by psychiatric staff and may receive counseling or medication management depending on his needs. He will need to report his conditions during intake and follow up through sick call or mental health requests.

Staying connected
While you are waiting for visitation to open up, you can stay in touch by sending letters through InmateAid. Once he is processed, you can also set up phone calls and other services.

If you want help checking his status or understanding what you are seeing in the system, feel free to share more details and I can help walk you through it.
