This is a common point of confusion, but it is easy once you know how it works.

In your confirmation email, you were given two numbers:

  • Your regular phone number, called the “forward-to” number
  • The new local number we assigned to help reduce call costs

The number you give to your inmate is the new local number we provided. That is the number they must add to their approved phone list and dial when they call you.

When your inmate calls that local number, the system automatically forwards the call to your real phone number. You do not need to do anything on your end once it is set up.

If you set up two lines, that means you have two different local numbers. You can give either one to your inmate, or both if you want multiple options for receiving calls.

Keep in mind:

  • The facility’s phone provider still handles billing and account funding
  • Our service works by making the call appear local, which lowers the per minute rate
  • Your inmate must add and get approval for the number before they can call

If you are unsure which number is which, look for the one labeled as your new assigned or local number in the email. That is the one to share.

If you want, send me the email details and I can point out exactly which number to use.
