Does My InmateAid Number Work After a Facility Transfer?
Not always automatically, and here is why.…

Not always automatically, and here is why. Different facilities use different phone carriers, and the rate structure that made your current InmateAid number the cheapest option at one facility may not apply the same way at the new location. A number that saves you money at one county jail might not be the optimal number for a different county's carrier. The good news is that this is completely handled for you at no additional charge. If your inmate gets transferred to...

Commissary access does not open up the moment someone walks through the door, and that applies to phone calls and visitation as well. Everything is on hold until orientation is complete. When an inmate arrives at a reception or evaluation center, the facility's first priority is processing, not comfort. That means medical screening, classification interviews, housing assignment, property inventory, and orientation to the rules and expectations of the institution. Until that process is finished, no privileges are extended. It is not...

The standard policy is that minutes do not carry over from one month to the next. InmateAid's phone service runs on a month to month basis and each billing cycle resets regardless of how many minutes were used in the previous period. Unused minutes from one month do not accumulate into the next. That said, if there was a legitimate reason the service went unused, whether a transfer, a stretch in the hole with no phone access, a medical situation, or...

This confusion is more common than you might expect and there is a straightforward explanation for most of it. Leavenworth is actually home to two distinct federal facilities that share the same general location and often get conflated in databases and search results. There is the United States Penitentiary Leavenworth, which is a high security federal prison, and there is the Leavenworth Federal Satellite Camp, which is a minimum security facility that sits adjacent to it. They are separate institutions with...

Yes, but they cannot make one call after another. The is a bank of phones that are for use by all of the inmates. Inmates might have to wait 30 minutes or more to get a phone to use. After their call, the system will not allow for another call for 30 minutes or more (giving others the opportunity to make calls).

Usually yes, at least partially.…

When a deposit hits an inmate's account, whether through commissary or AdvancePay for phone calls, the inmate typically receives a receipt or notification that shows the deposit amount and in most cases a last name associated with the transaction. Some systems show a first initial and last name. Others show the full name depending on the platform and the facility. What they generally do not see is your full account details, address, or payment information. The...
