The Federal Correctional Institution, Schuylkill (FCI Schuylkill) is a medium-security United States federal prison for male inmates in Pennsylvania that opened in 1991. It houses a unit for pre-trial detainees that was opened in 1992. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice, and is located in north-central Schuylkill County, 46 miles north of the state capital of Harrisburg, and 175 miles north of Washington, D.C. The facility also has an adjacent minimum-security satellite prison camp which also houses male offenders.The Federal Correctional Institution, Schuylkill (FCI Schuylkill), located in Pennsylvania, is a medium-security federal prison for male inmates that opened in 1991 with an adjacent minimum-security satellite camp for lowest-risk offenders with shorter sentences. It also houses a unit for pre-trial detainees. Managed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, FCI Schuylkill provides various programs and services aimed at inmate rehabilitation and support.

Inmates at FCI Schuylkill are housed in one of four housing units, each containing two-person cells. The facility offers comprehensive health services, including sick call, dental care, routine medical and dental treatment, and emergency care available 24 hours a day. Inmates are allowed to spend $360.00 monthly in the commissary on their assigned shopping days. Clothing, shoes, food, drink mixes, and other items are available for purchase. The prison houses a Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) and offers additional drug abuse education and support programs, the camp does not house RDAP. Education services include literacy, GED, and ESL programs, as well as pre-release, parenting, and adult continuing education programs. Inmates can also participate in advanced occupational education in areas such as basic residential wiring and culinary arts.

Recreation services at FCI Schuylkill include a wide range of activities such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, and physical fitness programs. A music program and arts and hobby crafts are available, as well as special programs and activities throughout the year (e.g., movies, holiday sporting events, tournaments/contests, and inmate music shows).

In the camp, the indoor recreation area has a hobby craft area, a weight room, a music room, and a game room with various table games. The outdoor recreation yard offers a softball field, basketball courts, bocce courts, a weight lifting area, handball/racquetball courts, a volleyball court, and several horseshoe pits. Leisure activities include table games, arts and crafts, and special events organized throughout the year. The camp also offers indoor and outdoor recreational facilities to promote inmate well-being and engagement.

Notable inmates include American rap artist Beanie Sigel (who served two years for tax evasion), and John Stanfa former boss of the Philadelphia Crime Family currently serving a life sentence for multiple murders, kidnappings, and other crimes. Organized crime leader James Coonan is currently serving a 75-year sentence for murder, kidnapping, and other crimes for dominating the Hell’s Kitchen area of New York City over a 20-year period.
