Located at 2720 W Van Dorn St in Lincoln, NE, CCC-Lincoln carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. CCC-Lincoln offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

In 1967, Legislative Bill 569 established the Work Release Program, allowing certain inmates to work in the community and reside in the institution during non-working hours. By 1971, a community residential program was initiated, offering further opportunities for inmate employment outside prison walls. Construction began on a new facility in 1991, which opened in July 1993 with four housing units. Additional expansions followed, including a 100-bed men's transitional housing unit in 2017 and a new 160-bed female living unit in 2019, bringing the total capacity of CCC-L to accommodate 500 men and 160 women.

Since 1981, CCC-L has held accreditation from the American Correctional Association, demonstrating its adherence to rigorous standards of correctional excellence. Community custody at CCC-L represents the lowest level of custody and offers the least restrictive environment for inmates. Individuals in this program engage in "work detail" or "work release" activities.

Upon arrival, inmates spend several weeks on work detail, performing supervised jobs in the community for NDCS or other state agencies. These assignments may involve tasks such as cleaning, road maintenance, or administrative work. After this initial period, inmates have the opportunity to seek employment in the community.

Once a job is secured and approved by community corrections staff, inmates can transition to work release status. During work release, they are employed in the community, earning competitive wages and paying applicable taxes. Educational release is also available, allowing inmates to attend local vocational, technical, business, or community colleges, as well as universities.

Inmates participating in work release are responsible for their transportation to and from work, adhering to a pre-approved schedule, and covering their clothing and personal expenses. Additionally, they are required to pay room and board fees of $12 per day. This structured program aims to facilitate inmates' successful reintegration into society by providing valuable work experience, educational opportunities, and personal responsibility.

Inmate Locator

CCC-Lincoln maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.

If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.
