The Niobrara Co Jail is a detention center located at 416 S Elm St Lusk, WY which is operated locally by the Niobrara County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Niobrara County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Lusk Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Wyoming here.

The Niobrara County Sheriff's Detention Center is a secure facility with a capacity of fourteen beds, designed to hold adult male and female inmates. The facility's primary purpose is to ensure that individuals either complete their sentences or appear before a judge as required. To visit an inmate at this detention center, visitors must be adults or minors accompanied by a legal guardian. All visits are conducted in a non-contact manner, with both audio and video recordings in place to maintain security. Visitors are required to present photo identification and will be screened for any outstanding warrants. It is important to note that children cannot be left unattended in the lobby during visits.

The visiting schedule is subject to change and may be suspended without prior notice due to facility needs. To provide financial support to an inmate, visitors must use Access Corrections to deposit funds into the inmate's jail account. Inmates are prohibited from receiving any items during visits unless they have received written approval from the facility.

Upon release from the jail, inmates are issued a debit card containing any remaining funds from their jail account. This ensures that they have immediate access to their money upon leaving the facility.
