The Renville County MN Jail is a detention center located at 105 S. 5th St., Suite 210 Olivia, MN which is operated locally by the Renville County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Renville County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Olivia Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

-Letters containing foreign materials such as stickers (including stamps), perfume, etc.
-Mail containing or written in code
-Mail encouraging or suggesting violence

On-Site Visitation Hours:

Sunday - Saturday: 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM & 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM
Fridays: NO EVENING VISITS

Visitation with inmates in the Renville County Jail can occur using two methods:

Off-Site Visitation (visiting an inmate from your home)
From your home computer (must have camera and microphone) or tablet. Off-site visitations are 20-minutes in length. Off-site visitations carry a fee of $.39/minute.

On-Site Visitation
By coming to the Renville County Sheriff's Office. Visitation will still occur via video visitation, but with equipment at the Sheriff's Office.

Visitation Rules:
Visits will be granted on a first come, first served basis.
Visitation for pre-arraigned inmates may be restricted.
All on-site visitors must present a photo ID and are subject to a background/warrants checks.
Full name and date of birth must be provided for all juvenile visitors.
No visitation allowed for anyone with an active arrest warrant, regardless of extradition limits.
One adult visitor per visitation station.
Juvenile visitors must be accompanied by an adult.
One juvenile visitor, accompanied by one adult, per visitation station.
On-site visits are limited to 20 minutes in duration.
Additional visits are allowed, but you must check in again to assure that nobody else is waiting for a visitation station.
No person under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance will be allowed to visit.
No person who is disruptive or considered dangerous is allowed to visit.
Visitors may not wear sexually inappropriate or revealing clothing.
No nudity, vulgarity, lewdness or other inappropriate conduct is allowed.
No yelling or offensive language is allowed. Visitors/Inmates must speak in a moderate tone of voice.
All visits are recorded and may be monitored live.

(Other than for clergy and attorneys of record, no in-person visitation is allowed.)
