Goodman CI is for State Prison offenders sentenced anywhere from one year to life by the State Court in the county where the charges were filed

Goodman CI, established in 1970, operates as a minimum-security facility exclusively for female inmates. The institution's special mission involves providing inmate labor crews across various areas within the Broad River Complex, including headquarters, the print shop, training academy grounds, cafeteria, warehouse, horticulture, and grounds maintenance.

Educational opportunities at Goodman CI encompass Work Keys and GED preparation, along with access to programs offered by Claflin University. Vocational training options include small engine and barbering schools, aiming to equip inmates with valuable skills for future employment.

Healthcare services entail routine medical care on-site, complemented by 24-hour emergency care availability, while dental care is provided within the Broad River Complex. A range of programs is offered to inmates, including religious services, volunteer services, support groups like Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, reentry programs like Jumpstart and Women's Reentry, as well as initiatives such as Money Management and Prison Fellowship.

Goodman CI actively contributes to community services by providing inmate labor crews to the Department of Juvenile Justice and the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, fostering positive engagement with external agencies and promoting rehabilitation through meaningful work opportunities. Goodman CI maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.

If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.

Visitation is now open on Saturdays and Sundays for all institutions not on covid quarantine.

Visits must be scheduled ahead of time on the SCDC/GTL scheduler. If you have not created an account, click here to do so.

Visits will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be scheduled in 2-hour blocks. General population inmates with visitation privileges will be allowed four in-person visits per month.

Inmates may have one visit per weekend and up to four visits per month.

Inmates may have up to four visitors at a time, one of which must be an adult. Children of all ages can visit. Children age 10 and older must have a government-issued photo ID to visit. Children age nine and younger must show a long-form birth certificate.
