Trenton CI is for State Prison offenders sentenced anywhere from one year to life by the State Court in the county where the charges were filed

Located at 84 Greenhouse Rd in Trenton, SC, Trenton CI carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. Trenton CI offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

Trenton CI accommodates medium and minimum custody male inmates and offers a range of educational programs, including literacy, GED preparation, high school courses, Title I and special education, as well as Work Keys and Claflin University opportunities. Vocational training covers welding, brick masonry, carpentry, landscaping, crop production, and greenhouse management skills.

In terms of industries, Trenton CI is involved in packaging various products for the Inmate Package Program, allowing inmates' families and friends to order package combinations for shipment to the institution. The facility provides routine medical and dental care onsite to ensure the well-being of its inmates.

Programs at Trenton CI encompass multi-faith religious services, recreational activities, and specialized sessions such as Authentic Manhood, yoga, Toastmasters, Corrective Thinking, grief counseling, AA/NA, Jumpstart, and Real Man/Real Talk. Additionally, the facility offers the Prison Fellowship Academy, Spanish Bible Study, Proverbs 22:6, Kairos, Rock of Ages, pre-release programming, Impact of Crime, and violence prevention initiatives.

Regarding community engagement, Trenton CI offers an Operation Behind Bars program upon request for local groups, providing insights into prison life. The facility also organizes two correctional officer-supervised work crews: one assists Palmetto Pride with litter control along the state's interstate highway system, while the other maintains the Hickory Knob State Park Golf Course for the SC Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism. Through these services and programs, Trenton CI aims to support inmate rehabilitation and contribute positively to the community.

Visitation is now open on Saturdays and Sundays for all institutions not on covid quarantine.

Visits must be scheduled ahead of time on the SCDC/GTL scheduler. If you have not created an account, click here to do so.

Visits will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be scheduled in 2-hour blocks. General population inmates with visitation privileges will be allowed four in-person visits per month.

Inmates may have one visit per weekend and up to four visits per month.

Inmates may have up to four visitors at a time, one of which must be an adult. Children of all ages can visit. Children age 10 and older must have a government-issued photo ID to visit. Children age nine and younger must show a long-form birth certificate.
