Located at 200 Prison Rd in Enoree, SC, Tyger River CI carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. Tyger River CI offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

Tyger River CI, established in 1980 (Upper Yard) and 1983 (Lower Yard), is a medium-security facility for male inmates. It offers educational opportunities including literacy, GED preparation, and high school courses. Vocational training programs cover brick masonry, heating/air conditioning, auto body, and auto mechanics. In terms of industries, the facility hosts a private sector program focused on manufacturing hardwood flooring.

Routine medical and dental care are provided onsite, with 24-hour emergency services available. The facility also offers various programs, including religious services, volunteer services, recreational activities, and the Self-Paced in Class Education Program (SPICE).

In terms of community engagement, Tyger River CI operates a correctional officer-supervised litter crew responsible for cleaning up trash along interstate highways. Additionally, it participates in the Adopt a School program, providing labor for renovations to local high schools. The facility also offers an Operation Behind Bars program, allowing at-risk youth and adults to tour the prison and gain insight into inmates' experiences and the factors contributing to their criminal behavior.

Through these educational, vocational, and community engagement initiatives, Tyger River CI aims to support inmate rehabilitation and foster positive connections with the surrounding community.

If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.

Visitation is now open on Saturdays and Sundays for all institutions not on covid quarantine.

Visits must be scheduled ahead of time on the SCDC/GTL scheduler. If you have not created an account, click here to do so.

Visits will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be scheduled in 2-hour blocks. General population inmates with visitation privileges will be allowed four in-person visits per month.

Inmates may have one visit per weekend and up to four visits per month.

Inmates may have up to four visitors at a time, one of which must be an adult. Children of all ages can visit. Children age 10 and older must have a government-issued photo ID to visit. Children age nine and younger must show a long-form birth certificate.
