The Donald R. Kuhn Juvenile Center serves male residents between the ages of 10 and 21 and female residents between the ages of 12-21. The facility is designed with two intake rooms and two medical rooms making our total capacity 48. It is located in Boone County, West Virginia. The facility provides residential 24-hours care to high risk pre-adjudicated, or detention, residents on the south unit and maximum security post-adjudicated, or commitment, residents on the north unit.
Detention and Male Rehabilitation (Boone County)
All residents in our care receive medical, educational (General education, vocational education including cable tech, TASC preparation and testing), therapeutic recreation and counseling services to include on-site therapist and psychologist. Primary focuses of therapy are anger management, decision making, impulse control and substance abuse. The facility serves all 55 counties in West Virginia.
