The Southern Regional Jail is a low/medium-security detention center located at 1200 Airport Rd Beaver, WV which is operated locally by the Fayette Regional Authority and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates have been here for less than five years. Southern Regional Jail accepts inmates from the Fayette County Sheriff's arrests and surrounding towns, Beaver Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for West Virginia here.

The Southern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility was built in 1994 and serves seven counties in the southeastern part of West Virginia. These counties include Fayette, Greenbrier, Mercer, Monroe, Raleigh, Summers, and Wyoming. The facility is designed to manage the incarceration needs of these counties, providing secure housing and comprehensive services for inmates.

For offender banking, family and friends of inmates under the West Virginia Division of Corrections can deposit money into inmate trust fund accounts through various methods. They can make deposits by phone by calling 888.988.4768 and using Site ID 179. Alternatively, deposits can be made online through the websites ConnectNetwork.com or Jailatm.com. These platforms facilitate convenient and secure transactions, ensuring that inmates have access to necessary funds for commissary and other approved expenditures.

The Accelerated Parole Program, as outlined in Policy Directive 454.07, is available to inmates serving sentences with a parole eligibility date, with certain exceptions. This program is not available to inmates serving sentences for life with mercy or habitual life. Additionally, inmates are excluded from the program if they are serving a sentence for or have a criminal conviction for a felony crime of violence against a person, or if their sentence or conviction involves the use, presentment, or brandishing of a firearm. The program also excludes those serving sentences for crimes where the victim was a minor child or where the crime resulted in the victim's death.

Furthermore, inmates serving sentences for more than one felony conviction for controlled substance offenses, where they are serving consecutive sentences, are not eligible for the Accelerated Parole Program. Inmates serving sentences for offenses that require a mandatory notification period under West Virginia Code Section 62-12-23 are also excluded. The program does not apply to inmates currently incarcerated due to parole revocation for a new felony conviction, as stipulated in West Virginia Code 62-12-19(h), or those presently incarcerated in another jurisdiction with a consecutive or concurrent West Virginia Division of Corrections sentence.

These policies ensure that only eligible inmates can participate in the Accelerated Parole Program, thereby maintaining the integrity of the correctional system while promoting the rehabilitation and eventual reintegration of inmates who meet the necessary criteria.
