Visiting hours for USCF are subject to change, so it's crucial to confirm them by contacting the facility directly by phone. Please reach out to 801-522-7000, on visitation procedures, applications, or directions to the facility in Salt Lake City. Please note that visitors will undergo a thorough search before entering the premises, and personal belongings, including cell phones, are strictly prohibited. Individuals under probation, parole, or community corrections supervision must obtain approval from both their supervising officer and the superintendent before visiting, although such visits are not typically approved.
The Utah Department of Corrections encourages approved visitors to schedule appointments before visiting inmates, stressing the importance of regular contact for inmate success post-release. Communication is primarily via email due to staffing shortages, with email notifications for visit changes or cancellations. Responses to visitor applications or visitation requests are sent via email. It's advised not to call to confirm visitation on the day itself.
Visitors should review visitation regulations beforehand, available online for various facilities. Regularly check the website for any changing conditions. Arrive 10 minutes early for video visits and 30 minutes early for in-person visits to the Utah State Correctional Facility, Central Utah Correctional Facility, or county jails.

The inmate or visitor may submit a completed visitor application form and a completed visitor consent form to Utah State Prison Visiting or Central Utah Correctional Facility Visiting.
Visitors may submit applications for themselves and for minors. Once you have the forms, please complete the portion marked Visitor's Section." The application should include:
1. Inmate's full name, offender number, housing assignment, and date of request.
2. Visitor's first, middle, last, and maiden (if applicable) name, gender, marital status, social security number, address, driver license number, state that issued the license, and date of birth.
3.Relationship to the inmate (wife, mother, brother, etc.)
Please attach the appropriate personnel documentation as described on the back of the application form, or as specified by visiting staff. All documentation should contain the inmate's clearly printed name and offender number.
If you wish to be notified of the approval or denial of your application, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your application. Mail or deliver the completed application form, with all documentation, the signed consent form and any other supplemental information, to the appropriate visiting office:

Visitor Application Form
This is the form that should be filled out prior to your first visit to the prison.
Visitor Consent Form
Prior to your first visit, the approved visitor shall sign the Visitor Consent Form, which states that he/she has read, understands, and shall comply with the visiting rules and regulations.
Visiting Renewal Update Form
All inmates/visitors shall update their visiting application annually. It is the responsibility of the inmate or visitor to submit a renewal form to Utah State Prison or Central Utah Correctional Facility visiting staff 12 months from the date of the application's approval. Visitors or inmates shall notify the visiting staff in writing of any change of address of approved visitors within 10 days of new address. Failure to provide this information within the 10-day limit may result in suspension of visiting privileges.
Visiting Minor Request Form
All minor visitors, except spouses, shall be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. If the minor's parent or legal guardian is unable to escort the minor to visiting, the individual shall:
1. Be the minor's grandparent or adult sibling, AND
2. Provide a notarised letter from the parent or legal guardian giving the individual permission to escort the minor.
Minors will be automatically removed from an inmate's visiting list, without notification, on their 18th birthday. It is that person's responsibility to submit an adult visiting application prior to the 18th birthday.
UT DOC - Rules by Type
All visitors must pass through a metal detector. If you have a medical condition that may set off the metal detector, please be prepared to provide proof from your doctor detailing which part of your body might set off the detector (such as hip or knee replacements). It is important to do this before your first visit to eliminate the possibility of being turned away. Visitors with metal implants may be asked to submit to a clothed pat search.

Personal property such as purses, wallets, paper money, coats, sweaters (used as an outer garment), blankets, writing paper, writing instruments, pictures, letters, etc. are not permitted in the visiting area. Visitors may not be permitted to bring in more than two vehicle keys. The keys should be on a small keyring.

Visiting Cautions
We ask visitors who answer "yes" to one or more of the following questions to not enter our facilities because of the risk they may pose to themselves, our inmates and staff:
1. Do you have a fever, sore throat, muscle aches, joint aches, and shortness of breath or a cough? (If it has been more than 10 days since you last experienced these symptoms, you will be allowed to visit).
2. Are you currently feeling ill or feel you are in need of medical care?
3. Are you currently being treated for any contagious illness?
While the prison and its personnel do understand the inconvenience not being able to visit can cause, we appreciate your help in maintaining public health and safety.
