Are glasses and contacts allowed in prison?
My son just went to prison at the Florence FCI. His prescription is still good. Since he can't get fitted for glasses, should I get him contacts? Will that be allowed at that facility or should I guess on a style of frames and hope they work?

Contact lens or glasses are permitted in federal prison.

Contact lens or glasses are permitted in federal prison. He can buy reading glasses and "artificial tears" which would act as the solution for the contacts, at the commissary if you go that route. If you know his approximate size just guess and get something that is durable and scratch proof.
