Can I write my uncle to confront him while hes in jail?

I want to ask my uncle why he did what he did to me years ago. I’m an adult now and forgive him for what he did but still want to know why he did what he did. Am I allowed to write that in a letter?

Yes, and if it were criminal, maybe you should ask someone else (legal) for advice, too
