Congress eliminated parole for federal defendants convicted of crimes committed after November 1, 1987 under the Sentencing Reform Act of 1984. Therefore, federal inmates can no longer receive a parole release, but they may earn reduced terms for good behavior - up to 15% off of their sentence. If your husband was granted an early release and late violated the terms of their probation, they could be required to finish the entire original federal sentence in a federal prison after their state bid was completed.
