What Is Visitation Like at Rockdale County Jail Georgia?

My boyfriend is in rockdale county jail. What is the visitation set up for this jail? Will I be able to touch him or will I be looking at him thru glass and on a phone?

Rockdale County Jail in Conyers, Georgia offers contact visitation, meaning you will be in the same room as your boyfriend rather than separated by glass. Visits run approximately 20 minutes, and correctional officers are present in the visitation area throughout.

Physical contact is limited. A brief hug at the beginning and end of the visit is generally permitted. Extended physical contact or anything beyond that is not allowed with staff present, and any behavior that draws attention from the officers will be addressed.

A few things to know before you go. Make sure you are on the approved visitation list before making the trip. Most county jails require visitors to be pre-approved, and showing up without being on the list will result in being turned away. Call the facility in advance to confirm your approval status, the current visiting schedule, and what identification you need to bring.

Dress appropriately for the visit. County jails typically have dress code requirements for visitors, including restrictions on certain colors, revealing clothing, and anything that could be confused with inmate attire. Getting turned away at the door for a dress code issue on a 20-minute visit is a frustrating and avoidable outcome.
